Dr. Samrina Rehman, EMBA

Dr. Samrina Rehman is an experienced science professional, a bioinformatics data scientist, and an educator, with a PhD in Systems Biology, an Executive MBA, and Masters degree in Chemistry and Cheminformatics. She combines advanced scientific expertise with strategic business acumen, leading innovative research projects that advance understanding of human diseases, including connective tissue diseases, neurodegenerative diseases, cancer, liver disease, metabolic disorders, and regenerative medicine.

Dr. Rehman has authored several scientific publications and reports throughout her career. She is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Biology and an elected member in several professional societies. Dr. Rehman led multidisciplinary projects pioneering the application of systems biology to understand Dupuytren's disease and advance the study of such fibroproliferative disorders. Her work on systems biology of liver disease, using data from patient-derived iPSCs, hESCs, and differentiated hepatocyte-like cells, has been instrumental in advancing the field. She has investigated various cancer datasets, including chronic myeloid leukemia, applying systems biology and mathematical modeling to predict key protein regulation and examine cancer cell heterogeneity, offering insights into resistance mechanisms, leading to the discovery of novel therapeutic approaches.
